Healthcare CFO, Berlin

Our client is a progressively developing medium-sized firm operating in the healthcare sector, backed by an established private equity investor. They are looking to expand their team with a Finance Director or CFO. The company is operating in a highly fragmented market and aims to further strengthen its market position via organic growth as well as through acquisitions. The position is located in Berlin. The Finance Director or CFO reports to the CEO and the advisory board.


  • Guiding the organisation during the strong growth environment and implementing the growth plan in close cooperation with the shareholder
  • Leading the administrative and financial operations (including expansion)
  • Optimisation of best-in-class management information systems and KPIs
  • Budget planning (monthly, yearly and medium-term) and forecasting
  • Reporting accurate financial results to the management and shareholders
  • Coordination and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Evaluation of M&A activities
  • Due Diligence preparation and execution, acquisition finance as well as coordination of internal approval processes
  • Acquisition purchase price negotiations
  • Integration of acquisitions, including implementing uniform best-in-class reporting standards across the group
  • Efficiency improvement and optimisation programs (profitability, working capital, capex)
  • Cash flow and working capital management
  • Execution of software and IT systems rollouts as well as continuous optimisations
  • Preparing and leading refinancing rounds, including dealing and reporting to banks and the shareholder (LBO credit contract knowledge is a plus)
  • Go-to person for tax advisor, auditors and insurances
  • Planning and execution of exit


  • Excellent academic record, ideally with a focus on Business Administration or Finance
  • The position is open to candidates with strong CFO credentials from a DACH-based Mittelstand firm, ideally with a healthcare focus
  • Strong accounting (HGB as well as IFRS), and controlling know-how
  • Right type of gravitas and credibility to get “buy-in” from the colleagues and the shareholder
  • Excellent negotiation skills and high assertiveness
  • Entrepreneurial hands-on mentality combined with an analytical mind-set and outstanding business judgement
  • Ability to constantly improve processes
  • EDP / Software affinity with, in particular, strong ERP experience
  • Experience in working with private equity investors / banks (LBO financing structures)
  • Fluency in German and English
