Our client is increasing its market leading derivatives valuation and hedge accounting team to serve its current clients and fulfil that market need, at a time when most of our clients are facing significant accounting challenges (introduction of New UKGAAP - FRS102 and the upcoming IFRS9). We are looking for an experienced professionally qualified Chartered Accountant who will work across the different sector teams and provide clients with derivatives valuation support, helping them fulfil their valuation and hedge accounting requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing financial modelling and analysis
  • Advising clients on derivatives valuation and providing hedge accounting support to them and their stakeholders (mainly external auditors)
  • Liaison with other team members supporting their advisory engagements where necessary, both in Europe and in the USA
  • Client responsibility (Leading client relationship management and delivery of output) for a portfolio of existing clients
  • Preparing and presenting pitches to win new clients, producing client briefing notes and analysis

  • Initiate and participate in external marketing and thought leadership activities (publishing of relevant articles/analysis)

Profile

  • Chartered Accountant Qualification
  • Practical experience with FRS102, IAS39, IFRS7 and good knowledge of IFRS9 gained in either a treasury, debt advisory or corporate finance environment
  • Hedge Accounting experience preferably in Real Estate industry or Corporate Treasury
  • Experience with a large audit firm, preferably audit teams and review of financial instruments accounting or Treasury Advisory teams helping clients implementing new accounting standards
  • Communication with senior level executives and client boards through client pitches and mandate execution
  • General understanding of financial markets and OTC derivatives in particular
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills

Job Offer

  • Base from £45,000 to £65,000 for the right candidate
  • Either coming from Top 20 practice / Big 4 or from equal Bank / Advisory firm
