Within Institutional Banking & Markets, our Commodities & Environmental Markets (CEM) team plays a critical role in delivering risk management and hedging solutions across global markets. We're now seeking an experienced Director COO CEM to partner with senior Trading and Sales leadership and help drive the strategic direction, operational excellence, and governance of this high-performing business.

The opportunity

As a Director within the CEM COO team, you will play a pivotal role supporting the Global Heads of Trading and Sales, helping shape and execute the strategy for a globally connected trading franchise.

This is a highly visible role where you'll drive product development, strengthen risk and governance frameworks, and deliver critical business initiatives across the front-to-back trade lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

• Shape and translate CEM trading and sales strategy into executable initiatives
• Lead the delivery of product and business initiatives aligned to commercial, risk and regulatory objectives
• Drive the design, development and enhancement of commodities products and features
• Partner across Trading, Sales, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Finance and Operations to deliver outcomes
• Lead governance and stakeholder engagement to ensure effective delivery and issue resolution
• Identify and implement improvements across product and trade lifecycle processes
• Provide high-quality insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders and governance forums
• Manage complex, ambiguous issues and drive resolution in fast-paced environments
• Maintain awareness of market and regulatory developments to inform strategy and risk decisions
• Build relationships with external counterparties, market infrastructure providers, and vendors

What you bring

You are a commercially minded leader with deep Global Markets experience and the ability to influence outcomes across complex stakeholder environments.

• 10+ years' experience in Global Markets (Trading, Sales or aligned functions such as Risk, Product Control or Operations)
• Strong understanding of commodities markets (e.g. metals, energy, carbon, agriculture or electricity)
• Knowledge of Global Markets products such as commodity derivatives, repo, futures or listed options
• Deep understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle (execution, booking, valuation, risk and operations)
• Proven ability to deliver outcomes in complex, time-critical environments
• Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing capability across global teams
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to prioritise competing
