Sompo has a unique opportunity for a
Global Head of Brand in our
Branding and Communications team.



We're looking for an experienced and visionary Global Head of Brand to take the Sompo brand to new heights, with a particular focus on supporting our Property & Casualty (P&C) business. This new role will focus on our brand strategy, refine our visual identity, oversee design and ensure seamless alignment across our global operations, including Japan.



As a cultural bridge-builder and creative thinker, you understand branding across international dimensions to drive forward a strategy and identity that speaks to our various stakeholders and is tailored for local markets in corporate brand campaigns.



You'll lead the charge in elevating Sompo's global brand strategy, shape our visual identity, and drive brand governance.



Your mission? To further establish a distinct, competitive brand position for our P&C business while working closely with our parent company, Sompo Holdings, to ensure alignment and impact at every level. You'll therefore bring a good understanding of Japanese business and brand culture-ideally backed by experience living or working in Japan or a command of the language.



As a key member of the Group Communications team, you'll join a dynamic, collaborative network of professionals located across the globe. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across cultures and markets, ensuring the Sompo brand resonates powerfully with audiences worldwide.

Our business, your impact, our opportunity:




What you'll be doing:



- Define and lead the global brand strategy to support business growth and market differentiation, with emphasis on the P&C business.



Evolve and protect the global visual identity, ensuring brand consistency across all channels and regions.



• Serve as global brand guardian, ensuring alignment with Sompo Holdings (Japan) while adapting to local market needs.



• Advise senior leadership, including the Group Head of Communications, on brand perception, positioning and impact.



• Manage and grow a high-performing team, fostering creativity, alignment and delivery excellence.



• Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, HR and business teams to bring the brand to life across the entire ecosystem.



• Develop and implement brand measurement frameworks, including brand health metrics and campaign effectiveness tracking.



• Manage brand budget, external brand agencies and vendors, ensuring quality, creativity and budget control.




What you'll bring:



• 10+ years of brand leadership experience in a global organization-preferably in insurance, financial services or a similarly complex, regulated industry.



• Proven experience building and leading global brand transformation, repositioning or expansion efforts.



• Professional experience in or with Japan; strong understanding of Japanese business and brand culture.



• Japanese language fluency is desirable.



• Expertise in brand architecture, visual identity systems, tone of voice and brand governance.



• Good track record of building, influencing and managing relationships with senior level leaders.



• Skilled in leading diverse, cross-functional teams.



• Excellent strategic thinking, creative judgement and communication skills.



• Ability to travel occasionally.

The total compensation opportunity for all regular, full-time employees is a combination of base salary and incentives that gets adjusted upfront based on overall Company performance with final awards based on individual performance.
