- Our client, a well-established Commercial Bank with a strong presence across Hong Kong and Greater China, is seeking a Head of Strategic Planning & Business Management to join the Chief Executive Office. Reporting directly to senior management, this position plays a pivotal role in shaping the Bank's long-term strategy, driving key business initiatives, and supporting executive decision-making across the organization. This is a highly visible leadership role that will work closely with the CEO, senior executives, business heads, and key stakeholders across the Bank to formulate growth strategies, monitor business performance, and drive strategic transformation initiatives.
Your new role
- Lead the development and execution of the Bank's corporate strategy, business plans, and long-term growth initiatives.
- Partner with the CEO, CFO and senior management team to identify strategic priorities and formulate actionable business plans.
- Drive annual strategic planning, budgeting, and performance management processes across business and support functions.
- Monitor market developments, industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities and risks.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management and Board-level committees.
- Coordinate cross-functional strategic initiatives and ensure successful implementation across various business units.
- Lead business performance reviews, management reporting, and executive presentations for senior management, Board committees, and regulators.
- Support corporate development, transformation, digitalization, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Act as a key liaison between business units, support functions, and the Chief Executive Office to facilitate effective collaboration and execution.
- Develop and maintain strategic KPIs, business scorecards, and management dashboards to track performance against objectives.
- Oversee strategic projects and special assignments initiated by senior management.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline. MBA or other postgraduate qualifications would be highly advantageous.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience within banking, financial services, management consulting, corporate strategy, CEO Office, business management, or corporate planning functions.
- Strong understanding of commercial banking businesses, financial markets, and the Hong Kong banking landscape.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, business management, transformation, or CEO Office functions.
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, executive management, and Board-level committees.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Exceptional presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and drive execution.
- Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin preferred).
