We are seeking a highly responsive and hands-on Trading Support Engineer to provide technology support to investment professionals within a fast-paced investment management environment.

This is a front-office facing role supporting portfolio managers, traders, analysts, and other investment professionals. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted technology partner, ensuring seamless operation of the firm's end-user technology, trading applications, and workplace infrastructure while delivering an exceptional level of service to business-critical users.

Working within a lean and entrepreneurial environment, the role requires a self-sufficient individual who can take ownership of technology issues across infrastructure, applications, connectivity, cloud platforms, and vendor-managed services. The position offers broad exposure across the business and the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing evolution of the firm's technology capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Front Office Technology Support

• Provide high-touch technology support to portfolio managers, traders, research analysts, and other investment professionals.
• Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day technology issues impacting front-office users.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to trading applications, market data platforms, desktop environments, connectivity, and peripherals.
• Minimise business disruption by delivering timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
• Develop trusted relationships with stakeholders and maintain a strong understanding of business workflows and technology requirements.

Infrastructure & End User Computing

• Support and administer Windows desktops, laptops, cloud PCs, and end-user computing technologies.
• Manage Microsoft 365 services, including identity and access management, collaboration tools, and productivity platforms.
• Administer Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Support virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), cloud workspace solutions, and remote access technologies.
• Maintain desktop standards, endpoint security controls, and device lifecycle management processes.

Trading Systems & Market Data Support

• Support trading, research, and investment-related platforms used by the business.
• Assist with Bloomberg, FactSet, Refinitiv/Eikon, OMS, EMS, and related market-facing technologies where applicable.
• Troubleshoot technology issues affecting order execution, market data access, and investment workflows.
• Coordinate with external vendors and application providers to resolve system issues and implement enhancements.
• Assist with onboarding new trading and investment technologies.

Vendor & Service Management

• Act as a key liaison between the firm and external technology vendors, managed service providers, and software providers.
• Coordinate escalations, service requests, maintenance activities, and technology upgrades.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure service levels meet business expectations.
• Support software licensing, subscription management, and technology asset tracking.

Continuous Improvement & Projects

• Identify opportunities to improve user experience, operational efficiency, and infrastructure stability.
• Participate in technology projects, including upgrades, migrations, deployments, and platform enhancements.
• Contribute to infrastructure and workplace technology initiatives that support business growth.
• Maintain operational documentation and technology standards.

Requirements

Essential

• 4-8 years of experience within IT infrastructure, end-user computing, desktop support, workplace technology, or trading support environments.
• Strong experience supporting Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365.
• Hands-on experience administering Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID.
• Strong understanding of Windows desktop and laptop environments.
• Experience supporting Cloud PC, virtual desktop, or VDI technologies.
• Proven troubleshooting capabilities across hardware, software, applications, networking, and cloud-based services.
• Experience managing or coordinating with third-party vendors and support providers.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to support senior stakeholders in a demanding environment.
• Ability to operate independently and effectively within a lean team structure.

Preferred Experience

• Experience within a hedge fund, asset management firm, proprietary trading firm, family office, investment bank, or broader financial services environment.
• Exposure to front-office technology or trading floor support.
• Experience supporting portfolio managers, traders, research teams, or other investment professionals.
• Knowledge of Bloomberg, FactSet, Eikon, OMS/EMS platforms, or similar investment technologies.
• Experience supporting cloud-based workplace technologies, Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, or related solutions.
• Familiarity with financial markets and investment management workflows.
• Mandarin language capability is advantageous.
