My client a leading global banking group is looking to recruit an experienced Internal Audit professional to lead its Internal Audit team in Hong Kong.
The Internal Audit Manager will manage a team of auditors in Hong Kong and will lead the Audit portfolio with responsibility for planning, executing and reporting of Audit activity, having responsibility for delivery of global audit plans and will need to build, manage and maintain key stakeholder relationships. The jobholder will ensure that Audit meets its obligations as set out in the Audit Charter and instructions, issued by the Chief Audit Officer, ensuring relevant regulatory requirements are incorporated into the delivery of all Audit services whilst contributing to the strategic direction of Audit by providing thought leadership and technical expertise, including implementation of approved strategies. The incumbent will contribute to the effective management of business operations through ownership of relationship management and participation in relevant Executive Committees, Control Boards and other relevant Leadership teams across the organisation. The Internal Audit Manager will maintain awareness of business impacts to the Global Audit team to ensure the integration, up-skilling, knowledge transfer and information sharing occurs across the Global Audit team.
The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant with at least 6 years’ experience gained in a Banking/Financial Services environment, including Financial Services focused roles at the Big 4 and Consulting firms. Candidates will ideally have gained at least 2 years’ management experience and have a solid understanding of both Global Banking and Markets and Corporate Banking. Applicants will need strong business acumen, a strong understanding of Internal Audit practices, standards and methodologies and knowledge of Basel, IFRS and SOX disciplines and how the relate to the banking industry. Candidates will need to have excellent written and spoken English language skills with the ability to communicate with influence, positivity, credibility and persuasiveness.
