Our client, a Not for Profit organisation based in North County Dublin, is currently looking to recruit an Internal Auditor to join their team.




Purpose and Principal Duties:

• Planning, executing and completing reviews of financial and operational processes throughout the organisation in line with the Internal Audit Plan


• Producing detailed working papers and drafting clear, concise reports and obtaining management responses prior to their finalisation


• Offering insights, expertise, and advice and constructively challenging current controls


• Ensuring assignments are delivered in defined time scales


• Working with the business to ensure that issues raised are addressed and recommendations implemented in a timely manner


• Performing follow-up audits to ensure appropriate action plans raised in both internal and external audit reports have been implemented and are operating effectively


• Assisting in the preparation of Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee and Senior Management communications


• Working Heads of business units, including Finance, Risk and Legal to improve corporate governance, risk management and internal controls


• Building strong professional relationships with the leadership in the business


• Encouraging the practice of strong internal controls across the organisation


• Liaising with external auditors as required


• Auditing of all aspects of salary and pension payroll will be a key role


• Assist in the training of colleagues where required


• To constantly review processes and create efficiencies where possible


• Engagement with the wider management team

Learning and Education:

• Minimum three years experience working in audit


• Practice trained and knowledge of the Charitable/government sectors would be an advantage


• A professional accountancy qualification and member of a recognised accountancy body (e.g. CAI, ACCA, CIMA) is a mandatory requirement


• IT systems and advanced excel & word experience required
