Associate Director – Private Markets Group: will lead a team responsible for servicing Japan-based institutional clients and fund managers investing into private markets, including private equity/venture capital and real asset funds.
Associate Director – Private Markets Group: The Associate Director (AD) will be responsible for a broad spectrum of financial and accounting matters affecting our Private Equity and Real Assets clients, in addition to client relationship management. ADs should have a strong background in accounting for alternative investment funds, with a focus on private equity and/or real assets, proven client management skills, and the ability to manage and lead a team in monitoring client deliverables and meeting deadlines. Additionally, the AD is responsible for maintaining relationship with key strategic client based in Japan; as well expanding SS&C product/service offerings to this client.
- Participate in new business discussions with prospects and existing clients
- Manage client relationship, including regular meetings with key constituents on client side to assess performance
- Maintain/manage client expectations and coordinate deliverables timelines with staff
- Provide guidance and direction to staff on all technical and client-service-related topics
- Support JGAAP conversion as part of service deliverables
- Develop/maintain robust review procedures around deliverables
- Support corporate goals and business/departmental initiatives, including expanding product offerings
Job Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, CPA designation a plus
- 12+ years’ experience in accounting, with a focus on alternative investments funds, preferably private equity and/or real assets (preferred but not required)
- Knowledge of IFRS and JGAAP, with an emphasis on investment partnerships
- 7+ years’ experience supervising two or more professional staff
- Hands-on management style with strong leadership skills and ability to develop staff
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills
- Team player, self-driven and solution-oriented with a clear focus on client servicing
