Area / Context

The Communication department of Societe Generale Asia-Pacific is ensuring:

  • The definition and implementation of the Communication strategy in the region (approx. 8,000 staff across 12 countries), in line with Societe Generale group communication and Asia-Pacific overall strategy and objectives
  • The promotion of Societe Generale's brand, culture, values, and business expertise to its internal and external stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region
  • The support of its business activities, principally in Financing & Advisory, Global Markets and Investor solutions, Asset Management, and Transaction Banking
The Communication department consist of a regional team based in Hong Kong and dedicated teams in key regions: China, India, Japan and Singapore for SE Asia. The department is structured around the following activities:

Mission




Role Summary

Based in Tokyo, Japan, working under the supervision of the Head of Communication - Japan, and in close collaboration with the RWC Project manager and the Head of Events based in Hong Kong, the RWC Event Production Manager is responsible for orchestrating and delivering all events as defined in the Rugby World Cup communication plan. This communication plan aims at:

  • Promoting brand awareness / image
  • Supporting and enhancing client relations
  • Generating staff engagement


The position is a temporary mission, starting in Q1 2018 and finishing 31 December 2019.

Main Responsibilities

The scope of responsibility covers managing and ensuring the delivery all staff and client events which are building the main part of the RWC communication plan, defining and coordinating all required internal or external resources.

Client Events

  • Definition and delivery of all client events, including RWC hospitality programme: definition of the experience, identification and coordination of relevant internal and external stakeholders / vendors
  • Contribution to deliver client-dedicated business events during RWC in Japan
  • Contribution to define and deliver Rugby / Rugby World Cup events in Asia-Pacific (outside of Japan)
  • Coordination of usage of RWC assets at ad-hoc events


Staff Events

  • Management and delivery of RWC staff events in Japan
  • Coordination of usage of RWC assets in ad-hoc internal events
  • Contribution to define and deliver Rugby World Cup events in Asia-Pacific (outside of Japan)


Coordination of RWC assets dedicated to event activation, including

  • RWC tickets
  • RWC brand ambassadors
  • RWC merchandising products


Planning and Monitoring

  • Vendors / suppliers: sourcing and coordination of logistics, contractual agreement
  • Budget management: allocation of resources, follow-up, recharges
  • Definition of event briefs and runsheets


The role implies also to assist the other Communication team members across Asia-Pacific as and when required.

Profile

  • Proven record in Events strategy and organisation
  • Experience in project management
  • Hands-on approach yet with string sense of strategic use of communication
  • Knowledge of the financial industry is a plus

University degree

  • Marketing and / or Communication and/or Literature degree

Languages
