Position Description:

Over the past 24+ months, PIMCO has undergone significant change in the realm of digital readiness. As part of a global digital transformation initiative spearheaded by Technology and Marketing, PIMCO has built the stage to enable personalized client centric experiences. The firm is seeking an experienced digital marketing automation professional to help support and implement PIMCO's marketing automation programs in APAC. This key position will be responsible for project managing the day-to-day email operations and partnering with the digital campaign lead to develop and execute integrated campaigns and programs that drive engagement and scale for our business while delivering data-driven personalized experiences. This specialist will coordinate and gate keep our marketing automation programs and email efforts regionally including implementing email programs while maintaining our best in class marketing automation framework to service clients, nurture leads and maximize cross and up sell opportunities . This role will also actively contribute to the Japan business as a member of the Japan Marketing team, supported by the rest of APAC Digital Marketing team.


  • Partner with the APAC digital campaign lead to execute the APAC email and marketing automation strategy
  • Work closely with APAC marketing stakeholders to implement the marketing automation roadmap
  • Coordinate and gate keep all email and marketing automation activities in APAC
  • Monitor and quality check the work of the email and marketing automation vendor
  • Maintain and align with the high standards of PIMCO's marketing automation framework
  • Contact point for channel marketing teams on all enquiries around email and marketing automation system
  • Project manage initiatives on connecting Marketing Automation system with other systems
  • Perform Marketing database management, reporting and contact maintenance
  • Generate and run reports for campaigns
  • Run multivariate testing and partner with digital campaign lead to optimize campaigns
  • Collaborate with global partners to ensure a coordinated approach is taken for automation initiatives
  • Assess data quality and underlying architecture and subscription systems to provide input on the future state operating model
  • Collaborate with APAC digital campaign lead and global marketing teams to ensure we maximize our investments in marketing automation programs and across teams
  • Work with the Japan Marketing team and APAC digital campaign lead to formulate and rollout digital campaigns in Japan.
  • Act as an APAC digital marketing delegate in Japan to communicate regional digital initiatives with local stakeholders

Position Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years experience with marketing automation, and 2+ years with Marketo (must be Marketo Certified Expert)
  • Fluent in English and Japanese
  • Experience executing complex campaigns where email is often one component of a multi-pronged marketing strategy
  • Strong understanding of email and database marketing infrastructures & technologies
  • Knowledge of core technologies, including HTML, CSS, web activity reporting and marketing architecture.
  • Experience project managing the development, testing and implementation of automated and event triggered email programs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and keep projects on time
  • Strong strategic, analytical, problem solving and project management abilities
  • Experience with CRM (Microsoft Dynamics strong advantage)
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail a must
  • Familiarity with regional anti-spam regulations
  • Knowledge of modern email best practices
  • Experience with a lead nurturing and lead management programs
  • Strong drive to harness technology in practical ways to grow business through digital channels
  • Experience with writing for emails a plus
  • Financial knowledge is a plus
