Your role in the team

The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for building a deep understanding of customer needs in Japan with the aim of solving meaningful problems to make IG the most loved trading platform in the region. You will look at data from multiple sources to identify product opportunities - customer feedback, stakeholder input, feature usage data, feature requests, and financial metrics. You will work closely with product and technology teams to drive initiatives for the prioritised opportunities that improves customer experience in a viable way for the business. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, product discovery, and project management skills. Successful candidate will drive forward IG's product offering in Japan by collaborating closely with geographically distributed cross-functional teams in an innovating financial technology space.

What you'll do

- Deeply understand the target clients, commercial needs, as well as competitors offerings, so that we can offer the best service in Japan.

- Identify opportunities aligning to the vision of the division and translate them into quarterly OKRs

- Find the best opportunities to go behind and lead the product discovery by working with UX researcher, Product designer and technology teams.

- Own the product roadmap that addresses key use cases for our customers in Japan.

- Collaborate with the divisional product team in prioritising opportunities and solutions competing for the same resources.

- Build and present business case when additional investment outside of divisions existing resources is required.

- Be open to deploy the local product/vendor if that is the best solution for Japanese clients.

-Lead not only strategy and planning but also execution/delivery.

- Adopt consistent working practices and documentation - In terms of product lifecycle, working with a full stack engineering, UX and data team across the division.

-Line manage and lead the local product team consisting of UX researcher and Product designer to own design and specification of product initiatives.

- Understand, challenge, and own the outcomes that are key for the growth of IG Japan.

-Develop product propositions that target the needs of the different segments of clients.

-Ensure the successful design, build, and launch of best-in-class digital products across all platforms.

-Coordinate with development, marketing, and sales teams to plan and execute successful product releases.

-Coordinate user testing activities to gather feedback and validate product concepts.

-Analyse test results and iterate on product designs based on user insights.

-Provide support to Product Marketing Manager in creation of sales enablement resources and product demonstrations.

-Communicate updates to internal and external stakeholders, highlighting achievements and key metrics.

-Carry out competitor and sector research to help keep the division up to date with our competition's offerings and latest activities in the market.

-Work with the Divisional CX Manager to monitor continuous client feedback and CX and commercial performance metrics to help identify key client pain points and commercial opportunities.

What you'll need for this role

Skills Required:

- At least 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager for a software product

- Experience of leading product and engineering teams in an agile model, with strong product management acumen

- Experience of working closely with UX researcher and Product designer in Product discovery and delivery activities.

- Comfortable with using data to inform and back key decisions.

- Experience developing and owning Product Propositions, with a focus on delivering OKRs.

- Demonstrated experience of building product proposition through researching target audience, and ability to design customised solutions to their needs.

- Experience working with cross-functional teams covering Sales, Technology, Operations, Marketing and Compliance

- Are an open, confident, and considered communicator and collaborator, able to present clear findings that colleagues can understand and use.

-Ability to build commercial awareness of IG's offering from website during the interview process.

-Japanese: Japanese language proficiency at a business or native level. Overall - 3/4 - Intermediate/Fluent

- English: Proficiency for business conversation. Overall - 2 - Intermediate - B1 English Level

Good to have:

1+ year of team management experience Ability/Openness to work with remote teams in different countries. Proven track record in managing complex and large-scale projects. Experience of delivering solutions in a regulated environment Experience in Financial Services, Trading, or Investments company English: Proficiency for business conversation. Overall - 3/4 - Intermediate/Fluent - B2/C1 English Level
