Due to the growth of our business and the need to enhance and evolve the regional support in APAC, we are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join the Finance & Administration (F&A) team based in our Tokyo office.
Reporting to the APAC regional Finance Director, based in Tokyo, this position will be a key contributor to the expansion of the financial and regulatory oversight and operational capabilities of APAC F&A support to the Region. This role will collaborate with the business, as well as other F&A and Infrastructure teams, to support business initiatives, management reporting, and to enhance the oversight and control framework for the F&A APAC function. An important element of the role includes being a central Finance contact for the Region by building relationships with key stakeholders from various departments located in our Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, Shanghai and Tokyo offices. The candidate is expected to work closely with existing F&A members in Tokyo as well as the central F&A functions in Boston. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a variety of Finance functions and has demonstrated the ability to adapt quickly and effectively to new situations.

Support business initiatives:
• Act as a central point of contact in the Region for accounting and regulatory reporting inquiries related to ongoing and new business initiatives
• Support key regional initiatives, with a particular focus on, but not limited to our China expansion project and ongoing support for the China business, by providing internal project management and coordination with internal and external service providers
• Help to communicate and monitor Financial and Regulatory requirements that may impact ongoing and new business initiatives
• Coordinate with the F&A central teams, other Global Offices, and Infrastructure teams in the Region as necessary to support the business
• Assist with business related time sensitive and ad hoc Finance related information requests
• Support the financial information needs for APAC client prospects and existing clients including Requests for Information and Requests for Proposals
• Work with the APAC Regional Finance Director and existing APAC Tokyo F&A members on Regional and local office specific needs including management reporting and Regional and local office management and Committee support
• Build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of management and global offices
Controls and oversight
• Develop an understanding of the financial statements for the various APAC legal entities and regulatory reporting requirements to provide oversight and updates to the Region's Management and Compliance teams
• Work real time with central F&A teams by providing timely updates of local requirements and business initiatives
• Accounting and reporting for Tokyo entity by preparing and reviewing accounting tasks, such as journal entries and account reconciliation
• Understand tasks and workflows performed by central F&A functions to develop the knowledge to effectively

support and oversee APAC activities

Develop an understanding of APAC F &A roles by working collaboratively to help review financial statements, management reporting and to provide notable business updates
• Support Risk and Control related operational work, including working with the Enterprise Risk and Compliance teams to help develop and maintain key risk metrics
• Support procurement and vendor review process in the Region
• Assist with identification and implementation of process and control enhancements
• Assist in the execution of the external audits of the region's various legal entities
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience
• Bachelor's degree with strong academic credentials is preferred, although not essential if there is sufficient relevant professional experience
• Prior working experience in a global organization in a corporate finance or business management role
• Prior experience in various Finance function including for example, accounting, financial analysis, management reporting, regulatory reporting, coordination of external audits, revenue, and billing
• Prior experience in operational risk or control functions is a plus
• Strong interpersonal (written and verbal) communication and coordination skills in English
• Additional language skills are a plus, particularly Japanese or Chinese (Mandarin)
• Strong collaboration skills to work with various APAC teams and other global offices
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Maturity, professionalism, and high level of discretion is required
• Willingness to travel internationally when required
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
• Proven ability to master new tasks quickly, coupled with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Proficient in Excel. Prior experience or an aptitude in learning various report writing software and programming tools would be a bonus
