The Training Material Development Lead sits at the intersection of technology, training, and people. A successful candidate has a passion for breaking down complex technical topics for beginners, and is equally comfortable working with experienced and/or subject-matter experts in the automotive space. Additionally, the Training Material Development Lead is someone who loves delivering engaging courses to small and large groups. They also enjoy working with stakeholders and engineering leads to prioritize a materials and course development roadmap.
Working with leadership and our in-house training team to prioritize training materials roadmap.
Spending time embedded with key engineering teams to gain a deep, practical understanding of their product, technology, and workflows.
Owning the full pipeline of design, creation, and implementation of product-based training materials and courses.
Devising and implementing a regular update schedule to keep materials and courses up-to-date.
Delivering engaging courses to small and large groups of engineers
Researching and recommending whether to build scalable e-learning and self-paced courses or instructor-led training sessions.
Making “buy vs build” decisions for generalized training topics with materials that are readily available on the market.
3-5 years of experience in a technical role (e.g. software development, software architecture, embedded systems, automotive technology).
Experience managing stakeholder expectations and prioritizing a development roadmap.
Proven ability to design, build, and implement impactful training materials and courses.
Experience building modular and scalable e-learning training materials and courses where appropriate.
Ability to simultaneously manage several projects.
Native English proficiency level.
Willingness to independently learn new technology.
Business Japanese proficiency level (not essential).
Experience developing and implementing products to mass production via the “V-model”.
Interest in EdTech and adult education.
Experience with any major learning management or talent management system
Experience leading a small team of instructors and training material developers.
