Description
Agile delivery has matured past ceremonies and facilitation. Knowing how to run a retrospective, or why a Sprint Goal matters, is the starting point everyone is expected to bring. It is not what makes a Delivery Lead valuable. What matters now is judgment: the ability to keep a delivery system honest, to see risk before it becomes a blocker, and to say so clearly enough that the right people can decide, at team level, at business level, and at the level of the organization itself.
The Delivery Lead is accountable for the health, transparency and continuous improvement of the delivery system. Working across Product, Tech and the squad, you connect product intent with delivery reality, and you strengthen delivery confidence, flow and team effectiveness. You work through transparency rather than authority. You make the facts and the options visible, and the team and the organization decide where to go.
This role does not carry budget ownership, resource allocation authority, or people-management responsibility. Those sit with the Product Manager, Tech Lead, and Chapter Lead respectively.
What you will do
- Keep the delivery system healthy. You maintain a current view of capacity, flow, dependencies, risks and delivery confidence, alongside team health, sustainable workload and business satisfaction. You report on them, flag issues early, and make sure they have owners, actions and follow-through.
- Connect product intent with delivery reality. You make the consequences of scope and timing decisions visible before they become surprises, while the Product Manager decides value and priority. You help the multidisciplinary team (BA, Tech Lead, engineers, QA, UX) stay aligned on what is feasible and what it costs. You use production feedback to check that the loop between delivery and outcomes works, while Product owns the outcomes.
- Make decisions clear. You make decisions, owners, assumptions and trade-offs visible, and bring the right people together in the right forum, not more status reports.
- Improve how the team works. You adapt practices (Scrum, Kanban, XP or a blend) within organizational standards. When something systemic breaks, such as releases, late testing or slow decisions, you make it visible and drive the fix with the specialists who own the execution.
- Use data, automation and AI pragmatically. You improve insight and delivery with them. You are not the AI expert. You are the catalyst who makes sure your team gets the value the Chapters are building.
Requirements
Mandatory skills
- Proven experience owning the effectiveness of a delivery system (flow, dependencies, risks, delivery confidence) in a software product team, including at least one example of surfacing a risk before anyone asked.
- Solid practice of Agile and flow methods, and the judgment to adapt them to the team's context rather than apply them by the book.
- Ability to influence Product, Tech and stakeholders without formal authority, through evidence and clear communication, and to name a risk plainly without taking sides.
- Experience coaching and training others on frameworks and ways of working.
- Experience using delivery metrics (e.g. flow, aging work, WIP) to make risks and trade-offs visible.
- Fluent in English, written and spoken.
Valued assets
- Experience driving change at both team level and business or organizational level.
- Experience with AI tools, including personal solutions you have built with them.
- Experience coordinating across several squads or platforms.
- Experience in financial services or a regulated environment.
- Agile or delivery certification (e.g. PSM, SAFe, ICAgile).
- French.
Who you are
- An agile mindset. Agility is about collaboration, growing together, supporting colleagues, intellectual humility and a strong desire to learn.
- Curious about technology. You tinker, you keep learning, and you care about the craft beyond the job description.
- A clear communicator. You can explain a hard trade-off simply, in writing and in conversation, to people with different priorities.
- A well-rounded personality and a good sense of humor. We don't compromise on these.
