About the Role:
The Junior Business Analyst supports Foundation Data Leader and the broader APAC Data & Analytics team in delivering foundational data capabilities across Liberty's Commercial and Retail businesses. This is an entry-level role suited to a recent graduate at the start of their career. The role provides support across requirement gathering, documentation, coordination, analysis, and delivery activities to help build consistent data foundations that enable reporting, analytics, and business decision-making across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Analysis and Delivery Support
- Support the delivery of regional data enablement initiatives by assisting with day-to-day business analysis and coordination activities.
- Gather, document, and organise business requirements, process notes, and meeting outputs to support data foundation initiatives.
- Help track actions, milestones, dependencies, and issues across projects to support timely delivery.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Support
- Work with business and functional stakeholders to understand data needs and document requirements clearly.
- Support workshops, meetings, and follow-ups by preparing materials, capturing notes, and monitoring agreed actions.
- Liaise with Technology, Data Engineering, and business teams to help ensure requirements and delivery outputs are aligned.
- Build effective working relationships with regional and in-market teams across Commercial and Retail business areas.
- Escalate issues, risks, or gaps to the Regional Data Foundation Lead when needed.
- Support communication and coordination across markets to help promote consistent ways of working.
- Data Foundations and Documentation Support
- Assist in documenting data definitions, process flows, business rules, and other project artefacts.
- Support data-related analysis activities by reviewing information, identifying gaps, and helping maintain documentation for foundational data assets. Assist in identifying data sources, documenting data flows, and supporting updates to data structures used for reporting and analysis.
- Help prepare simple analysis, status updates, and reports to support decision-making and project tracking.
- Support testing, validation, and user feedback activities for data enablement deliverables where required.
- Assist with data cleansing, validation, and accuracy checks to improve the quality of information used in reports, dashboards, and analytical outputs.
- Maintain organised records of requirements, actions, decisions, and project documents.
- Provide support in maintaining data models, data marts, and controlled analytical environments, including routine housekeeping and backup tasks where required.
- Project Coordination and Reporting
- Support project planning and coordination activities, including meeting schedules, action trackers, status updates, and follow-up items.
- Help prepare project materials and reporting packs for leadership review.
- Learning and Team Contribution
- Learn Liberty's data, reporting, and business processes through on-the-job experience and coaching from the team.
- Contribute as a reliable team member by completing assigned tasks on time and to a good standard.
- Seek feedback, build knowledge, and develop core business analysis skills over time.
- Demonstrate curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a collaborative approach to solving problems.
- Governance, Quality and Compliance Support
- Follow established data governance, privacy, and documentation standards in all assigned work.
- Support accurate record keeping and help maintain traceability of requirements, decisions, and deliverables.
- Pay close attention to detail to support data quality and consistency across project artefacts.
- Raise concerns or issues promptly to the team lead or manager where clarification or support is required.
- Support adherence to data governance, security, and compliance requirements across reporting, and analytics,

Experience & Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience; suitable for a fresh graduate or candidate in their first professional role.
- Internship, university project, or coursework exposure to business analysis, data analysis, reporting, or process improvement would be beneficial.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Basic understanding of data, reporting, or business processes is helpful, but not essential.
- Strong academic record and demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn in a professional environment.
- Experience in insurance or data and analytics is not required, but interest in the field will be an advantage.
- Exposure through coursework, internships, or projects to SQL, data modelling, dashboard tools, or data preparation for analytics would be beneficial.
