Our client is a specialist private credit investment platform backed by an established financial institution, focused on originating and managing private credit investments across infrastructure and real asset sectors. As the business continues to expand its investment capabilities and fund offerings, it is seeking a Private Credit Associate / AVP to join its growing investment team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an investment professional looking to gain broad exposure across the private credit lifecycle, from opportunity assessment and transaction execution to portfolio monitoring and investor support. The successful candidate will work closely with senior investment professionals on both primary and secondary market opportunities across a range of credit strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate investment and financing opportunities, assessing their suitability against investment strategy, risk appetite, and return objectives.
- Build, review, and maintain detailed financial models, including cash flow forecasting, scenario analysis, and downside sensitivity assessments.
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence, including financial, commercial, industry, and risk analysis.
- Prepare investment committee materials and recommendations to support investment decision-making.
- Undertake credit, market, and liquidity risk analysis, including stress testing at both investment and portfolio levels.
- Support transaction execution processes, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor portfolio investments, including performance tracking, valuation analysis, covenant compliance, and ongoing risk assessment.
- Assist in the preparation of investor presentations, fundraising materials, market research, and capital formation initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with investment, risk, operations, legal, compliance, and client-facing teams to ensure smooth execution and ongoing portfolio management activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Approximately 2 to 8 years of relevant experience gained within private credit, corporate banking, infrastructure finance, project finance, leveraged finance, investment banking, debt advisory, credit analysis, or asset management.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities, with the ability to assess complex financing structures.
- Understanding of credit fundamentals, financial statement analysis, and investment underwriting principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present investment recommendations clearly and concisely.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- Prior exposure to infrastructure, energy, transportation, utilities, real assets, or structured credit investments would be advantageous.
- Business-level Japanese language proficiency is beneficial for engagement with Japanese-origin transactions, investors, and counterparties.
