Managing FX risk and trading activities across regional currency spot, forwards and NDFs, with a strong focus on Southeast Asian currencies. The role involves market-making for corporate and institutional clients, supporting Sales with market colour, trade ideas and pricing, while partnering with regional trading desks and Head Office to drive revenue and optimize risk management.
We are seeking an experienced FX Trader to manage risk and trading activities across regional currency products, including spot, forwards and NDFs, with a particular focus on Southeast Asian currencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for market-making, pricing, risk management, and supporting client coverage teams while working closely with regional trading desks and Head Office to drive revenue growth and maintain effective risk controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage trading positions and risk across FX spot, forwards and NDF products.
- Execute and manage client and interbank flows, with a strong focus on Southeast Asian currency markets.
- Provide competitive pricing and liquidity to corporate, institutional and internal branch clients.
- Support Sales teams by delivering market colour, trade ideas, pricing guidance and timely market updates.
- Monitor market developments, economic data releases and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and manage risks proactively.
- Collaborate closely with regional trading desks and Head Office to optimize positioning, pricing strategies and risk management.
- Ensure adherence to trading limits, regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies.
- Contribute to revenue generation through effective market-making and prudent risk-taking activities.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across Sales, Risk, Operations and regional trading teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in FX Trading, with exposure to spot, forwards and NDF products.
- Strong knowledge of Southeast Asian currency markets and regional macroeconomic trends.
- Proven ability to manage trading risk and generate revenue within established limits.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make decisions in a fast-paced market environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with Sales teams and regional stakeholders.
- Familiarity with treasury and trading systems, market data platforms and risk management frameworks.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across multiple locations and functions.
