Joining the Credit Risk team within the Risk Management Group, you will work closely with Macquarie Capital to support innovative direct lending investments, providing independent insight and challenge that helps drive informed decision-making and long-term success.

What role will you play?

As an Associate Director within the Risk Management Group, you will partner closely with Macquarie Capital to assess, structure and oversee Direct Lending transactions throughout the investment lifecycle. Combining strong credit judgement with commercial awareness, you will analyse complex opportunities, evaluate risks and present clear recommendations to senior stakeholders, helping to support sound investment decisions. You will build trusted relationships across the business, contribute to the ongoing development of the team's risk approach and capabilities, and provide leadership, coaching and people management support within the team.

While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 3 days a week in our advertised location.

What you offer

  • 10+ years of credit risk experience, ideally gained within direct lending, private credit or leveraged finance environments
  • Strong expertise in financial analysis, credit assessment and reviewing transaction and financing documentation
  • Demonstrated experience leading, developing and mentoring team members in a high-performance environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge senior colleagues constructively
  • A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment

Our Risk Management Group works as an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie's material risks. We are a global team that aims to manage the risks of today and anticipate the risks of tomorrow. Our divisions include compliance, credit, financial crime risk, market risk, operational risk, aggregate risk and prudential, and central.
