Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts , as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2019 and beyond, we are currently seeking an experienced Head of Global Client Data Technology to join HSBC Technology.

What you will be doing;

You'll be successfully managing business relationships in the Global Client Data space which includes primary responsibilities around handling highly sensitive Client Data globally and providing regional oversight for the whole of Business Services technology, acting as an OIC for the Global head of Business Services Technology who is Pune based.
  • Managing the business relationship both at a regional and OIC level as well as for Data space which includes primary responsibilities around handling Client Data along with the oversight for instrument pricing and market data service
  • Partnering with the Client Data business and Business transformation teams to achieve an agreed set of outcomes
  • Working with the Business to define Data strategy and shape up technology strategy to deliver business outcomes.
  • Developing/supporting more than 20 separate IT services.
  • Leading a team of 150+ spread across India and UK.
  • Oversight / OIC of a budget of more than $70m across run and change the bank activities at the global level and more than 25m$ for the Client Data portfolio globally - Business services technology has over 270 FTE globally
  • Engaging with Operations team to drive efficiencies.
  • Managing the IT risk and cyber security profile of Client data technology teams


Qualifications
What you will bring to the role;

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:
  • Senior experience in technology, ideally within a global leadership role
  • Experience working in financial services within Tier 1 global banking organisations
  • Large scale, high profile programmes with IT budgets over $15M
  • Experience in successfully shaping strategy
  • Experience of working in client data technology is beneficial but not essential
  • Person who thrives on transforming technology by employing innovation, for better business outcome
  • Proven leadership experience across large geographically diverse teams
  • Experience of working in a matrix with diverse groups of stakeholders to engage and manage
  • Worked in multi-vendor environments with mix of vendor, in house and own build solutions

The role will primarily be based in Canary Wharf, London
