If you are interested in moving your career into the private-equity backed financial services start-up space, we are now working on an exciting new opportunity. Our client secured their banking license and has seen its headcount quadruple in 18 months. They are now looking to hire a qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) candidate with strong financial modelling skills to help provide value-add analysis and decision support to senior management as the company plans for the next stage of growth. Candidates must be able to be self-sufficient in building robust and interesting financial models and be able to work in a highly visible role.

Profile Criteria:

  1. Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) candidate with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience
  2. Experience from a Big 4 consultancy within Transaction Services or from the financial services industry in a commercial finance/FP&A role 
  3. Must have experience building complex financial models. Excellent Excel modelling and FP&A skills are essential 
  4. Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels (in particular at senior level - CEO, CRO, CFO, Front Office heads and business partners, etc.) 
  5. Ambition to learn, grow and pick up new tasks. It is envisioned that this role will develop into a Head of FP&A role in the future
  6. Experience of providing Management Information in a regulated business
  7. Financial services sector experience

Job Focus:

The MI & FPA Manager role is to provide insightful value add analysis and commentaries to support decision-making. This covers revenues, costs, balance sheet, capital and client franchise performance. In addition, the role also provides understanding of the drivers for performance, as well as that of key competitors. The role will succinctly and commercially present the story at the right level for Senior Stakeholder consumption.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain models and systems of reporting that provide the management team with accurate and timely information on the financial performance of the Company and financial modelling required to support cash management and corporate planning. 
  • Financial Modelling to support the budgeting and forecasting process as well as ad hoc analysis
  • ICAAP - Capital forecasting in both a stressed and unstressed environment and running the IFRS9 model in stressed and unstressed environments
  • Scenario testing - Supporting the financial modelling of scenario tests 
  • Stress testing - Supporting ad hoc modelling of stressed and scenarios if and when required 
  • Model Risk - Supporting the documentation of model risk including how the model works, its strengths and limitations, and its sensitivity to key inputs / assumptions
  • Ownership and delivery of high-quality timely management Information to Exco, Board, Group reports and ad-hoc investor analysis
  • Act as centre of excellence for the production of Management Information that will support the business areas within the company
  • Attention to detail - Updating, producing, and checking for accuracy all existing data reports external (Clients) consumption. Adhering to submission of reports as specified by the clients.
  • Ad hoc production of analysis and bespoke MI is required as a part of the role, mainly driven by strategy changes and client requirements.
  • In addition to producing MI, significant analysis of the MI is required ensuring information is presented in an easily read and understood format.
  • Manage the execution and management of financial targets and operating metrics for the Company.
  • Maintain financial models and internal budgeting systems. Gather, analyse, prepare and summarize financial plans and operating forecasts.
  • Distribute and communicate financial plans and results to appropriate stakeholders across.
