Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts , as well as project and programme managers.
We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2019 and beyond, we are currently seeking a Technical Product Manager to join HSBC Technology.

The Group Customer Data team is part of the Chief Data Office. It is responsible for driving strategy and integration of common information across business and functions. Its unique position in the organization has the ability to see the changes in the customer data landscape across the group and facilitate the best practice and approaches for how the customer data architecture can be improved.

What you will be doing;

  • Accountable for ensuring that all activities performed by Data Engineering teams adhere to the relevant prevailing data standards and data controls.
  • Work with the product owner to ensure that work is de-constructed and translated into development activities across teams.
  • Accountable for the creation and management of epics, backlog management and prioritisation across teams and for conformance to the IT operating model with regards to agile and Technology Practices.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all activities performed by Teams adhere to the relevant Service Management Standards, and high data quality exists in Service Management systems of record.
  • Work with product owner & team to ensure that the lead time to deploy changes is continuously improving and benchmarks appropriately across other functions within the DevOps team.
  • Work with product owner & team to ensure that high levels of automation are implemented and maintained across the teams.
  • Work with product owner & team to ensure that service levels are maintained and improved.
  • Ensure the cost base for the products and services is managed in line with controls applied by the Data Services Technology and associated Chief Information Officer (CIO) function.
Participate as part of the DevOps leadership team in ensuring consistent process and practice is maintained across the DevOps team

Qualifications
What you will bring to the role;

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

  • Experience of presenting at CXO level and the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders at a senior level.
  • A strong background in Technical Product Management with Agile delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; presentation skills preferred
  • Focus on detail and consistency
  • Expertise using data warehouse technologies (Teradata and DB2), ETL tools (DataStage), GCP cloud technologies, Machine Learning
  • Knowledge of Cyber security and regulations on data privacy
