Associate - Investment Banking
Location: Chicago, IL
A growing investment banking platform is seeking an Associate to support the execution of M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory assignments. This role offers significant exposure to transaction execution, client interaction, financial analysis, and business development initiatives across a variety of industries.
Responsibilities
- Perform financial analyses and valuation work to support advisory transactions and strategic recommendations.
- Review and provide guidance on analyst work product.
- Conduct industry, company, and market research to support live transactions and business development efforts.
- Lead due diligence processes, financial analysis, and transaction documentation.
- Prepare client presentations, marketing materials, information memoranda, and transaction-related deliverables.
- Identify and proactively address transaction challenges while communicating key issues to senior team members.
- Assist in developing strategic frameworks, internal resources, and business development materials.
- Participate in client meetings, management presentations, and transaction discussions.
- Help improve internal processes and workflows to drive efficiency.
- Support recruiting, training, and mentorship efforts for junior team members.
- Build relationships with clients and senior executives throughout the transaction process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 4+ years of professional experience, including 1-3 years of investment banking, M&A advisory, corporate finance, transaction advisory, or related experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting, corporate finance, and valuation methodologies.
- Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
- FINRA licenses (or the ability to obtain them within a specified period after joining) preferred.
