Head of Family Office Fiduciary
The Head of Family Office Fiduciary is responsible for managing a high caliber team of trust professionals serving as the trusted advisor to family offices, as well as charitable trusts and foundations. In this role, the Head of Fiduciary will manage a team of specialists in multiple locations who have responsibility for managing and administering client relationships primarily comprised of trust accounts where BNY Mellon is a named fiduciary. The individual will be responsible for leading a team that will interpret and understand trust instruments and related legal documents working with internal and external resources as necessary. They will meet with co-trustees and beneficiaries to ensure BNY Mellon, N.A. is adhering to the highest fiduciary standards and will work with co-trustees to establish investment objectives, exercise fiduciary discretion and communicate appropriately with beneficiaries. In this role, the incumbent will be expected to assess, identify and address risk related to BNY Mellons role as a fiduciary and oversee adherence to internal compliance procedures and standards. Additionally, the Director of Family Office Fiduciary is a voting member of multiple Trust Acceptance Committees (TACs) within Wealth Management and is expected to share their experience and provide guidance as part of those memberships. This position also requires periodic face-to-face meetings with the largest and most complex clients serviced by the team. Travel is required. The Head of Fiduciary will provide support to Family Office Wealth Directors and Client Service teams with existing client relationships; collaborate on potential new opportunities; and enhance and expand the firms relationships with Centers of Influence within the Family Office market. In partnership with their Family Office colleagues, he/she will lead the fiduciary team in supporting the development of current and future fee business and driving BNY Mellon Trustee and Executor appointments. Reporting to the Head of Family Office, the incumbent will also participate on the FO leadership team setting the vision and strategy for the business. Qualifications
The position requires the minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, a law degree with 15 or more years of experience in fiduciary administration, including fiduciary taxation, and having managed larger and more complex client relationships is preferred. The qualified candidate must possess very strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
