ABOUT YOUR TEAM:
As a function of Human Resources, Compensation provides consultation to management on employees salary actions including merit pay, equity adjustments, promotions and cash and incentive awards. Compensation is responsible for reviewing and approving employee salary actions, analyzing and evaluating Bank jobs to determine market value and assesses market data to update employee salary ranges annually. Compensation also maintains the database tables relating to all aspects of the function, for example, salary structure, job descriptions, job codes, etc.
WHAT YOULL DO:
Conduct a review of the content of all active job descriptions to ensure that the correct career band and competencies language are in every active job description and job families are leveled by increasing minimum qualifications, e.g. a level one position requires a bachelors degree, level two a bachelors degree plus 3 years of experience, etc., thus ensuring the minimum qualifications are actually different from level to level. Once the review is complete update any of the career band and competency language that is out of alignment with the standard language, keeping track of the descriptions that are updated. Report on the job families that do not present an advancing level of minimum qualifications and suggest changes to be made. Review the suggestions with the compensation team and people leaders over the positions where change is needed. Update the descriptions with agreed upon minimum qualifications.
