Regional Data Leader
The Regional Data Leader position is part of the Global Marsh Data team which is part of the broader Business Client Services (BCS) organization. This is a senior position, reporting into the Global Head of Marsh Data, and having a dotted reported line into the BCS leader for IMEA. They will serve on the IMEA BCS leadership team and will participate in various global initiatives. Given the nature of these relationships, the successful candidate will need to be comfortable operating within a matrix structure with a combination of regional and global responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the regional data and analytics strategy to support business growth objectives, with a strong focus on revenue growth, client retention, and operational efficiency gains. This role partners closely with business, operations, and technology teams to translate data into actionable insights, enabling strategic decision-making, improving customer outcomes, and identifying opportunities for scalable growth. The position leads the development of data-driven capabilities, governance standards, and performance measurement frameworks to enhance business performance and deliver measurable value across the region.
They are also responsible for ensuring that regional data needs are articulated at the global level and that global initiatives are implemented locally, essentially facilitating the bi-directional flow of information and systems implementation.
This is a senior leadership position that requires exceptional communication and collaboration skills, alongside deep data knowledge and experience defining and delivering complex data initiatives. The successful candidate is expected to become expert in the data and initiatives associated with these regional businesses and feel comfortable sitting with business executives in supporting their decision-making process.

We will count on you to:
- Design, coordinate and implement an articulated Data Strategy plan based on Global, Regional
- and Local requirements.
- Support the development and delivery of operational, analytical, and transactional systems that provide measurable and differentiated business value to the enterprise.
- Communicate locally with appropriate stakeholders the global data initiatives and support the adherence to global data standards.
- Communicate regional business data requirements such that the design of global systems includes these requirements for planning and design purposes.
- Recruit, train, mentor and manage a team of first-class business intelligence, analytical and data professionals as appropriate to support regional data needs.
- Provide insights to our colleagues on how to optimize their current processes and achieve continuous states of improved data quality.
- Support a diverse set of overlapping regional stakeholders in navigating the balance between short-term imperatives with long-term strategic objectives.
- Develop data-oriented dashboards that inspire colleagues to think expansively and outside the box as well as dashboards that delight our clients.
- Help to educate stakeholders on the 'art of the possible' with regard to their data, and help to bridge business and technical discussions in this regard. Work with regional business users on translating their use cases into business and technical requirements according to global standards, including leading business strategy planning efforts and developing high-level strategies across departments.
- Work with regional business and technology partners to understand associated metrics and identify potential operational efficiencies associated with in-scope regional data processes.
- Maintain and develop a wide network of effective relationships with other department heads to align departmental priorities across operation, technology and business stakeholders
What you need to have:
- Experience with a similar role, ideally within the Insurance or Financial Services Industries.
- Extensive, hands-on experience with data systems and their associated operations.
- Deep and abiding appreciation for all things data-its role, impact, challenges, and potential with an organization. It is especially important to be knowledgeable in the full gamut of Data Quality dimensions and processes.
- Ability to attract, train, manage and retain talent.
- Ability to create differentiated, insightful and inspiring Dashboards in concert with our center of excellence resources
- Solid understanding of Data Management and Data Governance concepts, processes, technologies, and issues.
- Experience structuring and managing behavior change across complex, global organizations.
- Extensive experience decomposing system processes from a workflow perspective to drive
- performance enhancements.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills, along with ability to extract business requirements from client use cases and translating these requirements into technical specifications.
- Ability and willingness to collaborate at all levels of a global organization to ensure the successful implementation of change.
- An inquisitive mind that is not afraid to question current ways of thinking.
- Experience operating independently but also knowing when to ask for help.
- Ability to think creatively to ensure completeness, accuracy, and utility.
- Ability to generate, sell and execute creative solutions to complex business problems.

- Understanding of the insurance market-players, processes, challenges/opportunities, and technologies
- Understanding of information (e.g. sources, identifiers, standards, glossaries, and taxonomies) within the insurance industry data domain.
- Understanding all procedural and technical aspects of the data management process.
- Understanding of business process design and systems change management.
- Interest in emerging technologies and knowledge of the InsurTech/FinTech landscape.
- Familiarity with various analytical and business intelligence methods and tools.
