Team Overview
The UK Decision Services team delivers software solutions that help banks, building societies, retailers, and other financial services clients assess credit risk and make informed lending decisions. Using data from credit reference agencies and other sources, we design, configure, and support decisioning solutions that help clients deliver fast, compliant, and accurate customer outcomes.
This role reports into the Manager, Technical Consultant.This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
- Assist Solutions Consultants with the design, configuration, and delivery of decisioning software solutions for financial services clients.
- Translate business requirements, solution designs, and credit risk strategies into automated decision logic, rules, workflows, and configurations within TransUnion's decisioning software.
- Use bureau data and client requirements to support the delivery of effective credit risk, lending, and decisioning strategies.
- Perform unit testing, scenario testing, and data validation checks to ensure solutions are configured correctly and perform as expected.
- Support the Test Team during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and other testing phases, including investigating defects, identifying root causes, and supporting effective resolution.
- Contribute to business, functional, and technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in project meetings with internal teams, clients, and third-party partners to support successful delivery and implementation.
- Provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager, Solutions Delivery Manager, or Team Lead.
- Support solution implementation, issue resolution, change requests, and post-production activities.
- Follow and support the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes used within TransUnion.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
- Experience working in a professional software development, technical configuration, or solutions delivery environment, including project delivery across in-person or virtual teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate defects, identify root causes, and support sustainable fixes.
- Ability to interpret business requirements and solution designs and translate them into clear, logical decisioning strategies or software configurations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical decision logic clearly to both business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Higher education degree in Science, Mathematics, Technology, Business, or equivalent industry experience, with a commitment to continuous learning and development.
Required Technical Skills
- Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
- Programming or scripting knowledge, such as Python, Java, JavaScript (JS), C and related derivatives, or Lua.
- Basic understanding of SQL or other data analysis approaches used to query, interpret, or validate data.
- Basic knowledge of testing tools, such as Simple Object Access Protocol User Interface (SOAP UI), and software testing processes.
- Software configuration experience, ideally within decisioning, rules-based, or workflow-based systems.
