The team
The Accounts Payable team forms part of the broader Finance department and is made up of one Accounts Assistant alongside three Junior Accounts Assistants. The team works in close collaboration with the Cashier team, sharing responsibility for certain tasks. Both the Accounts Payable and Cashier teams report directly to the Accounts Payable and Cashiers Manager.
The role
The Accounts Payable team deal primarily with purchase ledger invoices, expenses and third-party disbursements

This job description encompasses the main duties of the role and is by no means exhaustive. It is anticipated that duties may vary from time to time according to the needs of the practice area.
During the first six months of employment, you may be required to attend the office four days per week to support onboarding, training and collaboration. Your line manager may adjust this requirement based on your progress and business needs.
The candidate
The ideal candidate should possess A-Level qualifications or an equivalent standard, along with prior experience in an office environment. It is crucial for the candidate to be proactive, enthusiastic about learning, and capable of effective communication with suppliers and colleagues across all levels. Given the high volume of work, the candidate must demonstrate diligence and the ability to prioritise tasks while upholding the highest quality standards and adhering to established SRA rules and departmental procedures. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to pursue further finance qualifications, should they be interested.

The role
The Accounts Payable team deal primarily with purchase ledger invoices, expenses and third-party disbursements
Duties will include:
- reviewing supplier invoices related to both office costs and client recharges;
- reviewing expense requests;
- preparing and coordinating weekly payment runs;
- managing urgent daily payments as required;
- addressing and resolving payment queries from both internal teams and external parties in a timely manner;
- handling client disbursement transactions;
- requesting and processing VAT receipts as necessary;
- allocating funds received into the office account to settle the firm's invoices; and
- ensuring all queries are managed efficiently, escalated when appropriate, and clearly communicated to the Accounts Payable and Cashiers Manager posting funds received into office account to pay the firm's invoices.
