Job Description

We are looking for a Remediation Lead to lead our high-stakes, cross-functional global remediation and compliance initiatives. Sits at the intersection of Risk & Compliance, Product, and Operations, you will act as the master orchestrator for complex, multi-dimensional compliance programmes. This role requires an individual with an authoritative background in financial crime, risk management, and first-line control assurance. You will have full ownership of board-level updates, global remediation tracking, and direct external communication with regulatory authorities. This role will also include setting up the long term plan and framework for remediation management globally.




Team Mandate




The Remediation Team will:

• Own programme management for all regulatory remediation workstreams globally


• Establish the framework for escalation, reporting, and decision-making


• Provide technical challenge on approach, timelines, and output quality


• Facilitate decision-making across stakeholders - not just coordination


• Deliver clear, regular reporting to senior stakeholders and governance forums

Your Mission:

• Own Global Remediation Programmes: Lead the end-to-end design, governance, and structural execution of volatile, large-scale issues and global regulatory remediation programmes across multiple multiple teams.


• Regulatory Liaison & External Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for external regulatory examinations and audits. You will manage requests, coordinate evidence collection, and directly front communications with regulators.


• Subject Matter Expert challenge: This role is not just project coordination - you will provide technical challenges on approaches, timelines and output quality; Facilitate decision-making across stakeholders and help mediate between various stakeholders.


• Executive & Board Governance: Build framework structures for executive reporting. Own the creation and delivery of high-stakes updates, risk registers, and operational progression metrics presented directly to the Board of Directors and Regional Committees.


• Cross-Functional Alignment & Facilitation: Navigate Wise's highly autonomous culture to break down silos, align conflicting product roadmaps, and secure engineering prioritisation for critical "friction deflection" and compliance-led process redesigns.


• Data-Driven Stewardship: Establish the methodology to quantify the "cost of compliance friction" and evaluate process trends using rigorous qualitative and quantitative data storytelling to clearly inform senior management's strategic trade-offs.

Qualifications




A Bit About You:

• Extensive Experience: You have 8+ years of experience leading complex programme management, remediations or 1LOD risk & compliance within a hyper-growth Fintech, Tier-1 bank, or highly regulated financial institution.


• Highly Organised: You have direct project or programme management experience and are extremely organised driving alignment and tracking of key deliverables across a suite of stakeholders.


• Domain Expertise: Deep expert knowledge of FinCrime, AML, Sanctions, KYC/CDD, and Risk Mitigation platforms. You thoroughly understand how compliance controls translate into frontline operational workflows.


• Regulatory Track Record: Proven experience directly interfacing with major regulatory bodies and successfully navigating complex statutory exams, consent orders, or multi-jurisdictional lookbacks.


• Executive Presence: Exceptional communication and persuasion skills, with a demonstrated ability to confidently present to, challenge, and influence C-suite executives, Board members, and product leads without formal authority.


• Systems Thinker & Problem Solver: You naturally question the status quo, loathe manual workarounds, and excel at translating highly abstract or ambiguous regulatory requirements into concrete, repeatable process blueprints built for 10x growth.


• [Nice to have] Advanced Analytical Rigor: Highly data-driven and comfortable utilising complex financial/operational metrics or BI tools (e.g., Looker/Lightdash, SQL) to uncover the systematic root causes behind compliance or operational breaks.

Additional Information



Salary - £125,000 to £179,000 annually (+RSU's)
