Position Overview
Citadel Security USA is hiring a dependable
Unarmed Security Officer to provide overnight security coverage in Edwards. The officer will help maintain a safe, orderly, and professional environment by conducting routine patrols, observing assigned areas, documenting activity, and responding appropriately when assistance is needed.
This position requires someone who can stay focused during extended overnight shifts and work independently while following established procedures. Officers may also interact with individuals who are upset, frustrated, or difficult to communicate with, making patience, sound judgment, and effective verbal communication important qualities for the role.
Core Responsibilities
Patrol & Property Checks
- Complete scheduled exterior patrols throughout designated areas.
- Check entrances, parking areas, walkways, and other assigned locations.
- Maintain a consistent and visible security presence during each shift.
- Look for unauthorized activity, damage, hazards, unusual conditions, or other concerns.
- Bring security or safety issues to the attention of the appropriate supervisor or designated contact.
- Follow assigned post orders and location-specific instructions.
- Remain alert to changing conditions while moving throughout the assigned area.
- Perform security checks in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
Situational Response & De-escalation
- Respond appropriately to disturbances, emergencies, and other situations requiring security attention.
- Use professional verbal communication to help reduce tension when circumstances permit.
- Remain calm and respectful when dealing with angry, distressed, or confrontational individuals.
- Assess situations carefully and recognize when additional assistance is necessary.
- Contact supervisors, emergency personnel, or other authorized resources when circumstances exceed the scope of the assignment.
- Follow established response procedures, company policies, and applicable requirements.
- Keep designated personnel informed when an incident develops or conditions change.
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain accurate daily activity records throughout each assigned shift.
- Prepare incident reports for significant events, disturbances, unusual activity, or safety concerns.
- Document relevant observations, circumstances, and actions taken.
- Provide clear information during shift handoffs and supervisor communications.
- Submit required documentation through approved reporting systems and procedures.
- Ensure reports are factual, complete, timely, and professional.
- Protect confidential information encountered while performing assigned responsibilities.
Professional Standards
- Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with all individuals encountered while on duty.
- Exercise patience and good judgment during difficult interactions.
- Follow written post orders as well as verbal instructions from authorized supervisors.
- Remain attentive throughout overnight hours, including periods of low activity.
- Work responsibly with limited direct supervision.
- Represent Citadel Security USA with professionalism at all times.
- Maintain reliable attendance and arrive ready to begin each scheduled shift.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in professional security or a related protective-services role.
- Experience managing difficult, confrontational, or emotionally heightened interactions.
- Familiarity with verbal de-escalation and conflict-management practices.
- Experience completing activity logs, incident reports, or other security documentation.
- Previous experience in a position involving regular public interaction.
- Demonstrated ability to make practical decisions without continuous supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
