Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team on a 12-month contract. Based in their modern Eagle Farm office, you'll enjoy a supportive team environment, on-site parking, and the opportunity to work for a business that genuinely values its people.
Your new role
Working within a supportive payroll team, you will play a critical role in ensuring payroll is processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end payroll processing across assigned pay groups
Maintain and update employee payroll records and data
Review and process timesheets and time and attendance information
Ensure employees are paid accurately and on time
Assist with year-end payroll activities and reconciliations
Prepare and submit payroll-related reporting and statutory requirements
Complete month-end payroll reconciliations
Investigate and resolve payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
Monitor payroll compliance across taxation, superannuation, leave, allowances, and award obligations
Identify and escalate payroll issues where required
Support testing and implementation of payroll system updates and changes
Stay current with payroll legislation and compliance requirements
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Previous end-to-end payroll experience within a medium to large organisation
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance requirements and best practice
- Experience interpreting awards and enterprise agreements
- High attention to detail and exceptional accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships
- A proactive and team-focused approach
