A well-established and highly regarded accountancy and tax advisory firm is looking to appoint a Private Client Tax Director to join its growing team.

This is a senior opportunity for an experienced Private Client Tax professional looking to take greater ownership of a client portfolio, develop new business and play a key role in the continued growth of the Private Client practice.

The Opportunity

As a Private Client Tax Director, you'll advise a diverse portfolio of private clients on their tax affairs, while taking responsibility for the commercial and operational management of your portfolio. You'll work closely with clients and senior stakeholders, providing high-quality tax advice while identifying opportunities to develop existing relationships and generate new business. The role also offers the opportunity to take a leading role in the development of the wider Private Client team, with mentorship and support available as you continue to progress towards Partnership.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a significant portfolio of Private Client tax relationships, providing high-quality advice across a range of personal tax matters.
• Act as a trusted adviser to clients, building long-term relationships and understanding their wider financial and commercial objectives.
• Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of your portfolio, including billing, delegation, workflow and work-in-progress.
• Review and oversee the delivery of tax compliance and advisory work, ensuring consistently high technical and service standards.
• Identify opportunities to develop existing client relationships and introduce additional services where appropriate.
• Contribute to business development and help generate new Private Client opportunities.
• Manage, mentor and develop junior members of the team, supporting their technical and professional progression.
• Work closely with Partners and senior colleagues on complex client matters and strategic initiatives.
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the Private Client practice.

About You

• ACA, CTA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Significant Private Client Tax experience gained within an accountancy or professional services environment.
• Strong technical knowledge across UK personal tax and experience advising private clients.
• Proven experience managing client relationships and a portfolio of work.
• Commercially minded, with an interest in business development and growing existing relationships.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with senior clients and stakeholders.
• Experience managing, mentoring and developing junior team members.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
