Goldman's new London HQ is open. This is what's inside.

Goldman Sachs' fancy new London office: The tour

Goldman Sachs' new London office at Plumtree Court is open. Earlier this week, Goldman took to Twitter to boast about its new roof garden in the sun. If you haven't been yet, and are unlikely to go soon, this is what you're missing.

The Goldman Sachs nursery

Goldman doesn't just tend plants on its roof, it also tends employees' children on the upper ground floor.

Here, there is a 440sqm nursery and play centre, supplemented by another 200sqm on the ground floor.

The main nursery is has sleeping rooms and a milk kitchen for younger children. In the play centre for older children there's a climbing wall, trikes and mobility toys. There are classrooms that include play kitchens with washing machines, cookers and sinks, dressing-up areas and toys. There's a children's tech area and there's an activity room for STEM activities, arts and crafts and cooking projects.

Being a child at Goldman Sachs sounds quite fun.

The Goldman Sachs nursing rooms

Goldman Sachs doesn't just have a nursery, it has also has nursing rooms for lactating mothers. Each one has a fridge, pump and a phone (presumbaly so that you can chat while you pump).

The Goldman Sachs gym

If you're not a child or a lactating mother, you can avail yourself of what sounds like a very high class gym with huge list of machines and exercises devices.

These include: 17 treadmills; 2 Versa Climbers; 5 Stair climbs; 8 rowers; 14 bikes; 12 cross-trainers; 1 Platform; 4 Full racks; 1 Smith Machine; 9 fixed resistance machines; 1 Dual Pulley; 6 Plate loaded machines; 4 core training benches; 36 pairs of dumbbells; 6 benches; + 3 sprint treadmills; 2 assault bike, 2 sprint cross-trainers; 36 pairs of dumbbells and more.

There's also a 10m sprint track.

There is no excuse to be unfit if you work for GS.

There is also no excuse to be smelly: there are steam rooms too.

The Goldman Sachs resting and contemplation rooms

There are also special places if you want to lie down or zone out.

The resting rooms are for anyone feeling unwell or in need of rest.

The contemplation rooms are for anyone in need of quiet time. Bankers can also use them to prepare for pitches in a contemplative way.

The Goldman Sachs bike park

Goldman has done away with its executive parking lot, which might cause some aggro with the 60 senior staff who previously parked what were probably some quite special cars there.

In its place is a 455 person bike park, which suggests the democratisation of Goldman travel and the possibility that a lot of highly competitive Goldman partners and MDs will suddenly be found on Strava.

The Goldman Sachs roof garden

Lastly, there's the roof garden. This will have invertebrate habitat boxes along with wildflower species to support those invertebrates. There will also be a green roof designed by a famous green roof architect. And somewhere that collects rainwater.
