Blackstone hired a Goldman Sachs MD from the team schmoozing private credit firms
Blackstone is one of the biggest players in the private credit space, with $520bn in assets-under-management across real estate and corporate credit. There's room for more, it seems, in Blackstone's credit and insurance team (BXCI) which just brought in a Goldman Sachs lifer from its capital solutions group.

London-based Anna Montvai joined BXCI within Blackstone as a managing director after 16 years at Goldman Sachs. She made MD in 2023 but most recently worked on asset-backed finance and securitization within its capital solutions group. A conference profile of her in 2022 said that, prior to making MD, she worked on residential-mortgage-backed securities (RMBSs) in the Dutch housing market.
Goldman might be remiss to lose Montvai, but having a friend on the other side might benefit the capital solutions group. It was created at the start of 2025 to originate and facilitate financing deals for corporate clients and private markets firms. The Wall Street Journal said at the time that one of the goals of the creation of the team was to make friends with the biggest private equity firms, and that senior Goldman people believed that just a few firms would come to dominate the market.
Montvai isn't the first exit from the capital solutions group in recent months. In July, MD Alexander Vavalidis went to the Middle East to work for a sovereign wealth fund, the Abu Dhabi Investment Council.
