Rubinstein didn't respond to a request to comment for this article, but it's understood that he joined GTS as an MD two weeks ago, based out of New York.
GTS is an electronic market making firm that accounts for around 5% of US daily cash equities volume in the US. It also operates in fixed income markets.
Rubinstein spent nearly 13 years at UBS, where he worked until 2018 and was head of algorithmic trading and analytics. He then spent 2.5 years at Deutsche Bank, followed by brief stints at BNP Paribas, Liquidnet and ExodusPoint.
It's thought that he may be hiring in his new role.
