Janet Liu has left Citi and joined OCBC in Singapore as head of investments, treasury and equities.
Responsible for running the bank’s investments business and product strategy, her remit includes structured products, fixed income securities, FX, equities, robo-investing, and portfolio financing, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Liu previously spent about 20 months at Citi as an APAC/EMEA regional strategy lead. She did a longer stint at the US bank from 2008 to 2017, holding various senior wealth management roles in Hong Kong, China and Singapore, including as Shanghai-based head of structured product.
She is one of a growing number of professionals in Singapore who have worked in fintech and have returned to the banking sector. Between August 2018 and January 2020 Liu was CEO and product director of Linked Global Wealth, a female-focused wealth management startup she founded with ex-colleagues.
Liu started her career in Hong Kong in 2005 and worked for Deloitte, Bank of China International, and Rabobank before moving to Citi.
