Hong Kong’s global talent push gains pace

As global talent hubs grapple with economic uncertainty, Hong Kong stands out. This resilient international business centre has both regulatory clarity and long‑term stability.

One of the latest initiatives supporting this is the Innovating Hong Kong Global Online TalentX Carnival. The careers event will take place online on 26 and 27 March 2026. Ambitious finance, technology, and innovation professionals will have access to employers, career insights, and relocation guidance.

TalentX Carnival: More than a traditional job fair

Innovating Hong Kong TalentX Carnival goes beyond the format of a recruitment fair. It brings together talent, enterprise, policy, and technology within one integrated platform. This reflects Hong Kong’s ambition to position itself as an innovation hub and a high-value professional services centre.

The Carnival features cloud-based interview functionality, creating a hybrid recruitment experience that bridges online and offline engagement.

Event highlights

Over two days, candidates can connect with employers and get visa policy guidance, career support and practical relocation tools.

  • Insight-sharing sessions and seminars on career development, industry growth and Hong Kong’s evolving economic landscape.
  • Direct access to 3,000+ roles across financial services, technology, and property.
  • AI-powered matching: The platform features an enhanced AI suite, including mock interview practice and CV analysis, to provide feedback before speaking with employers.

The Carnival is the official designated recruitment event of the Global Talent Summit (GTS) and a strategic partner of Hong Kong Talent Engage, underscoring its central role in Hong Kong’s global talent strategy.

AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong

Participants will be invited to engage further at the physical career fair on 28 and 29 March 2026 at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. The in-person fair will host more than 400 employers and 10,000 open roles, offering face-to-face interaction, in-depth interviews, and extra seminars. Featured employers will include FUTU, Hang Seng Bank, MOUTAI, UNITREE and Liepin, alongside established institutions and emerging companies.

Past offline events have attracted over 10,000 participants, with 30% coming from outside the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The average interview-to-offer conversion rate for companies reached 25%.

The online event serves as a warm-up, offering company previews, early job applications, and AI tool experiences. The offline event focuses on in-depth interviews, seminars, and face-to-face interactions.

Sector-wide opportunities

This year’s online Carnival features roles across financial services, technology, property and other growth sectors. Roles are available for graduates, early-career professionals and experienced specialists. Candidates can upload their CVs in advance, speak to recruiters pre-application, and engage in live chat conversations.

Why Hong Kong?

The recruitment market is pivoting from ‘backfilling’ to value creation; 34% of employers plan to increase headcount this year. Hong Kong offers proximity to fast-growing regional markets and excellent career progression.

Its location and role as a bridge between mainland China and the West continue to drive demand for experienced professionals.

The city is also home to five universities ranked among the world’s top 100, reinforcing its depth of academic and research capability. In the International Institute for Management Development World Talent Ranking 2025, Hong Kong rose to fourth globally. Its highest position to date and first in Asia.

Hong Kong’s reach extends beyond the city. For those looking beyond the city limits, the event highlights GBA talent mobility. This includes cross-border career consultation, GBA policy interpretation sessions, and access to joint recruitment channels for enterprises operating across Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.

Working and living in Hong Kong

Understanding that a move to Hong Kong is about more than a job, the Carnival is a one-stop support system for relocation logistics and long-term career planning.

The government encourages talent from beyond the region. This includes programmes such as the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme. There is also an Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals, as well as the General Employment Policy.

The Carnival provides authoritative guidance on Hong Kong’s key talent admission schemes. This includes the Top Talent Pass Scheme (TTPS) and the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG), including all recent updates.

Besides visa guidance, participants can access:

  • Career support through official job databases
  • Advice on visa renewal pathways
  • Education consulting and school information for families
  • Broader relocation resources

Taking the next step

With competition for skilled professionals intensifying worldwide, Hong Kong is open, competitive, and globally connected. For international candidates, the online Carnival is the perfect warm-up to explore the market and secure early interviews.

If you're considering new horizons in Asia, the online Carnival offers a practical first step towards building a long-term career in Hong Kong.
